Judge Barbara Lynn
Barbara Golden Lynn is a Senior United States District Judge for the Northern District of Texas, in her twenty-fifth year on the bench. Barbara came to UVA in 1970 from Miami, Florida. She was the first female member of the Jefferson Society, a Raven, and a University Guide, and majored in American history. She graduated a year early so she could marry her College boyfriend, Mike Lynn (‘72). She graduated first in her class from SMU Law School in 1976, and immediately joined the Dallas firm of Carrington Coleman as a trial lawyer, where she remained until she took the bench.
Barbara has chaired the American Bar Association Section of Litigation and its Judicial Division, and is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers and past President of the American Inns of Court. She is an honorary bencher of Inner Temple in London. She and Mike have two daughters, three granddaughters and one grandson.
