Deborah (Debby) Denno
Deborah (Debby) Denno originally hails from Arlington, Virginia, and now lives in New York City. After graduating with a B.A. in psychology from UVA in 1974, she went on to pursue her M.A. in criminology from the University of Toronto (1975), her Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Pennsylvania (1982), and her J.D. (1989), also from Penn. Currently, she is the Arthur A. McGivney Professor of Law at Fordham Law School (in NYC) and the founding director of Fordham’s Neuroscience and Law Center. She specializes in criminal law and the interlinkages between neuroscience and all areas of law.
Debby was thrilled to be at UVA, where she was, among other things, a lawn resident, Judiciary Committee member, dorm counselor, Cavalier Daily writer, and Madison House volunteer. She finds attending UVA events a rewarding opportunity to connect with classmates and better understand the socio-cultural dynamics impacting the Class of 1974.
