Class of '74

Few guidelines and no roadmaps for this
gritty, smart, courageous group

In the fall of 1970, The College welcomed 350 eighteen-year-old women and 100 female transfer students who had received their acceptance letters. This small group of pioneers arrived on campus, chosen to challenge and transform the University of Virginia's 150-year-old tradition as an all-male institution.
